EMPLOYMENT VISA

Remarks:
A person permitted to enter Hong Kong as a Visitor could generally ONLY engage in the following business-related activities: concluding contracts or submitting tenders; participating in or trade fairs (except selling goods or supplying services direct to the general public), and attending short-term seminars or other business meetings.
ADMISSION SCHEME FOR MAINLAND TALENTS AND PROFESSIONAL
Who's it for?
For qualified Mainland talents and professionals to work in Hong Kong
Requirement:
A job position in Hong Kong that cannot be easily filled by local labor force.
Processing time:
4-6 weeks
Remarks:
Applicant having a bachelor degree is critical to the success of the application
CHANGE OF VISA SPONSORSHIP
Who's it for?
For a person who are holding an employment visa and seeking to switch employer in Hong Kong
Requirement:
A person is currently holding an employment visa in Hong Kong and a job offer from a new employer
Processing time:
4-6 weeks
Remarks:
Applicant must be physically present in Hong Kong on the day of submitting the application and if needed, collection of the new visa
INVESTMENT VISA AS ENTREPRENEURS
Who's it for?
For foreign entrepreneurs who attempt to stay and carry out a business in Hong Kong (also known as Investment visa / Entrepreneurs visa)
Requirement:
Required to provide a detailed business plan and proof of the start-up company contributing to Hong Kong economy significantly. Applicant must be the major shareholder of the business
Processing time:
8-12 weeks
Remarks:
Not applicable to PC passport holder, unless he/she holds a third country permanent residence status
DEPENDANT VISA
Who's it for?
For the spouse (including same-sex marriage / civil partnership) and unmarried children under age of 18 of a sponsor who holds a Hong
Kong long-term visa or is a Hong Kong permanent resident
Requirement:
Sufficient financial proof and suitable accommodation in Hong Kong are required
Processing time:
6 weeks
Remarks:
Parents aged 60 or above can apply dependant visa, if the sponsor is a Hong Kong permanent resident
EXTENSION OF ALL VISAS
Who's it for?
For non-permanent Hong Kong residents who are permitted to work, study or reside as dependants in Hong Kong, to continue their residence status
Requirement:
Applicant should apply for extension of stay within four weeks before the expiry of their limit of stay.
Processing time:
Variable depending on the visa type and nationality
Remarks:
Travel document validity should be longer than the expected visa, period extended
HONG KONG PERMANENT RESIDENCE
Who's it for?
For those who have ordinarily resided in Hong Kong legally for a continuous period of not less than 7 years
Requirement:
Demonstrating that applicant has taken Hong Kong as his/her place of permanent residence during the applicable 7 years
Processing time:
4-6 weeks
Remarks:
Explanation is required for any period of continuous absence from Hong Kong for more than 6 months
QUALITY MIGRANT ADMISSION SCHEME ("QMAS")
Who's it for?
For highly skilled and talented person who can enhance Hong Kong's economic competitiveness in the global market; there is no need to secure a job offer before the application
Requirement:
Awarded high points under either the General Points Test or Achievement- based Points Test and compete for quota allocation with other applicants
Processing time:
4-6 months
Remarks:
The QMAS Scheme is not applicable to nationals of Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Cuba, Laos, Korea (Democratic People's Republic of), Nepal and Vietnam.
